Overview

General Form Canonic Form

What is the software about ?

The software is an interactive dynamic visual guided learning software which provides both, the teacher and the student, the ability to Demonstrate, Study and Solve any quadratic equation. It is possible to Explore parameters of the quadratic equation and its roots
and immediately see the effects of changing the parameters on the equation's graphical representation. The Sign and Trend of the quadratic function can be studied and demonstrated as well.

DO and SEE! What you DO and SEE you will Understand and Remember.

The quadratic equation is presented in two forms:
General Form y = ax
2 + bx + c and Canonic Form y = a(x – x0)2 +y0 ,  in which the (x0 , y0) are the coordinates of the vertex.

Studying the Canonic Form (which is the simplest form) and its graphical representation leads to a better understanding of the quadratic equation,   its parameters and roots.
Therefore, the transformation of the General Form of the quadratic equation into its Canonic Form (a procedure known as “completing the square”) is presented in detail both algebraically and numerically.

All visual and text information can be printed and/or copied to another application such as Word
® or Power Point®.

With the software, everything you wanted to know and understand about quadratic equations is now within your reach.
